Guild Insurance Limited and EML Group, comprising Employers Mutual Limited and the ASWIG Partners, today announced a new strategic partnership designed to strengthen their collective ability to deliver high quality insurance and claims solutions for customers and partners across Australia.
The partnership brings together Guild Insurance’s longstanding expertise in general insurance and workers compensation products with EML Group’s national scale, specialist injury claims management capability and proven investment in, and development of, technology enabled solutions.
Under the partnership, Guild Insurance will continue to operate as a standalone insurer, with its brand, purpose and operational management remaining unchanged. Customers, partners and associations can expect complete continuity in the products, services and support they rely on today. The partnership strengthens Guild’s long-term sustainability and investment capacity, while ensuring it can propel its tailored insurance solutions to its industry partnerships and affiliations. All existing customer relationships, service channels and policy arrangements will remain in place.
Guild Group CEO Paul Cassidy said the partnership reflects the insurance business’s strategic ambition to grow, scale and enhance the value it delivers to customers and partners. “This partnership enables continued investment in the future of Guild Insurance, supporting faster modernisation of customer experiences while continuing to build on strong foundations. EML Group’s experience in technology‑enabled claims solutions and its values‑led culture align closely with Guild Insurance’s, supporting a continued focus on delivering sustainable, customer‑first insurance solutions.”
EML Group’s Executive Chairman Cameron McCullagh said the partnership represents an important step forward for both organisations. “For more than a century, EML Group has focused on helping Australians through life’s toughest moments. Partnering with Guild Insurance enables us to support more customers with an expanded insurance offering, whilst also being able to offer technology enabled solutions that improve recovery and claims outcomes.”
Guild Insurance welcomes this partnership, which sees a new ownership structure led by EML Group, alongside Guild Group on behalf of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, which remains a key shareholder. It strengthens our ability to deliver on our purpose – there for those our communities rely on – by bringing together experienced and highly aligned organisations who share a commitment to strong customer outcomes and long-term stability.
The partnership will be effective on or around 1 July 2026 and is subject to regulatory approval.
